Before the introduction of large format printing to the sign industry, using cut vinyl was the best method to produce a vinyl banner. This method required multiple steps and was quite labor intensive. So creating a vinyl banner with multiple colors wasn't a quick or cheap process.
With the ability to print directly onto banner material the labor involved was more than cut in half. The ability to put photographs, colorful clipart, and multiple colors onto a vinyl banner was now something every consumer should have made available to them.
